Herbal Support for Pregnancy

Last Sunday of the month, 12:00-2:00pm EST

During this workshop we will discuss some of the common occurrences that happen while the body is preparing to house a baby and how herbs can act as a holistic, soothing supporter along the journey.

This workshop is led by certified spiritual herbalist and community doula, Christine Miller.

HEAL: A Birth Trauma Processing Circle

Mondays from 4:00pm-6:00pm EST

A place for processing, integrating, understanding, and healing from birth trauma. This is a non-judgmental group that offers a place to feel heard, seen, validated and deeply supported.

The HEAL group will be led by Aimee Brill and Erica Livingston, experienced and compassionate facilitators who are committed to creating a safe space for sharing, growth, and recovery.

A 12-week journey meeting every Monday with a new cohort (closed group) established on May 20, 2024.

Please Note: Attending an open information session prior to May 20th is a prerequisite for participation in HEAL. The open information sessions will be held on May 6th and May 13th.

Grupo de Apoyo durante el Embarazo y Posparto en Español

Primer lunes de cada mes, 6:30-7:30pm EST

Siempre virtual, siempre gratis. Este grupo es un espacio de acceso directo en JBS para obtener asistencia personalizada con una doula en español. ¡El cuidado de las doulas es nuestra práctica y el apoyo es nuestra pasión! Estamos aquí para apoyarte en todo lo relacionado con el embarazo, el parto y el posparto para que puedas recibir una atención más profunda y enfocada. ¡Te lo mereces! Prenatal Yoga

2nd Monday of the month, 6:30-7:30pm EST

Prenatal Yoga is taught in a beginner-friendly way that is safe and supportive during any stage of pregnancy.  This class emphasizes the connection between the body and the mind. It’s essentially a meditation in motion using breath, focus and movement to cultivate a more peaceful mind as well as a stronger body. The poses offered are accessible and simple and are intended to strengthen and lengthen the body. You will be invited to work at your own pace, either slowing down or speeding up the movements to your liking.  Props are not required, but are welcomed.

Pregnancy Support Group

Tuesdays from 5:00pm-6:30pm EST

A weekly drop-in support group for expecting parents to find
connection and community, get your questions answered about pregnancy
and birth, and have a space to share your journey as a pregnant person.

Come gather to process the feelings of pregnancy as well as the physical changes in a non-judgmental and caring space.

Led by Erica Livingston of Birdsong Brooklyn, an experienced postpartum-centric, full spectrum doula, and Mother of two.

Prenatal Infant Feeding

Wednesdays from 5:00pm-7:00pm EST

A weekly drop-in support group for expecting parents to learn about different feeding methods, create feeding plans, and assess preparation for getting baby off to a great start before birth.

Participants will learn about preparing for breastfeeding/chestfeeding, formula supplementation, combo feeding and much more. 

Led by Charline Ogbeni of Supporting Our Mothers  Initiative, a prenatal to pre-college program.  Charline is a School Counselor, Lactation Consultant, and Full Spectrum Doula.

Postpartum Infant Feeding

Wednesdays from 7:00pm-9:00pm EST

A weekly drop-in support group to discuss breast/chest feeding or bottle feeding, learn how normal newborn feeding behavior presents in the first few weeks and throughout postpartum.

Learn how to recognize infant feeding cues, infant stomach size, and intake needs. Learn how to latch infant at the breast without pain, how milk supply grows, and how to know infant is getting enough. You will also learn when to seek help from a lactation consultant.

Led by Charline Ogbeni of Supporting Our Mothers Initiative a prenatal to pre-college program. Charline is a School Counselor, Lactation Consultant, and Full Spectrum Doula.

Educación para el parto / Childbirth Education

First and last Wednesdays of the month, 5:30-7:30pm EST

Esta clase tiene como objetivo ayudar a disminuir el miedo, el estrés y la ansiedad que puedan experimentar muchas personas, al igual que sus parejas durante el embarazo y el parto. Además, de las oportunidades de aprendizaje práctico los beneficios incluyen:
• Oportunidad de vincularse con otras personas embarazadas.
• Abordar sus miedos y/o compartir preocupaciones o experiencias con otras personas embarazadas.
• Confianza del conocimiento y la experiencia que pueden ayudarle a tener una experiencia de parto más satisfactoria.

This class is intended to help reduce fear, stress, and anxiety that many people, as well as their partners, may experience during pregnancy and childbirth. In addition to the hands-on learning opportunities, benefits include:
• Opportunity to bond with other pregnant people.
• Address your fears and/or share concerns or experiences with other pregnant people.
• Confidence in the knowledge and experience that can help you have a more satisfying birth experience.

Childbirth Education for Queer Families

Last Wednesdays of the month from 6:00pm-8:00pm EST

Join us for our monthly Childbirth Education centering queer, trans, and LGBTQIA2+ folx, facilitated by one of our queer connectors. This class is for birthing and non-birthing parents, surrogates, intended parents, and family/friends providing support.

This class will cover:

- Tools for centering your needs while navigating medical spaces that may not be queer centered

- Overview of the physiology and stages of pregnancy, labor, birth, and immediate postpartum and ways to connect with your choices at every stage 

- An opportunity to connect with other queer and trans expectant families

 We hope you will leave with confidence in the knowledge that can help you have a more empowered and centered birth experience.

Queer Families Support Group

1st Thursday of the month from 7:00pm-8:00pm EST

A monthly drop-in support group centering and uplifting the 2SLGBTQIA+ pregnancy experience. Come to have your questions answered, share space with other pregnant folks and their family constellations, and create community.

Led by one of our connectors Lucia (she/they), a Certified Nurse Midwife, and Full Spectrum Doula.

Postpartum is Forever

Postpartum is Forever is a weekly drop-in support group for parents of babies and kiddos over one year old to answer your questions about parenthood, find connection and community and have a space to share your journey as a parent. Induction Basics

2nd Saturday of the month 11:00am-12:30pm EST

The purpose of this class is to give knowledge around ways to induce labor both naturally and medically. We will discuss when an induction is medically necessary, when it's elective, and important questions to ask your doctor. The hope is that this class will empower you to make an informed decision about if and how you choose to induce labor.

Designed for new parents and caregivers, this comprehensive course covers everything from diapering to soothing techniques to postpartum self-care and sleep strategies and more. Delve into our doula-led class that provides practical tips, evidence-based insights, and step-by-step demonstrations to empower you on your parenting journey. 

We approach the journey of early parenthood through a birth justice lens going beyond traditional newborn care and embracing a perspective that values and respects the diverse experiences of birthing individuals and families. Whether you're expecting or have recently welcomed a little one into your life, join our community of learners and gain the confidence and know-how to give your baby the best start.

Ins and Outs of Genital Birth After Cesarean/ Vaginal Birth after Cesarean

3rd Saturday of the month, 1:30pm - 3:00pm EST

In this monthly drop-in class we will explore the ins and outs of achieving a Genital Birth After Cesarean/Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (GBAC/VBAC), emotional and community support, how to pick your provider, working with a doula, and more.

Led by Lucia (she/they), one of our connectors, a certified midwife, and a full spectrum doula.

We will discuss: Types of Pumps, How to Assemble your pump, How to have an effective Pumping session (how long is a session/ how to fit pumping into your day), and How much milk should I be pumping?
